1. 4 apples (I recommend you use baking apples, such as Granny Smith)

2. ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

3. ¼ cup light brown sugar , packed

4. 2 tablespoons butter (room temperature)

Step by step instructions on how to prepare the best baked apple recipe

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. With the use of a paring knife or an apple corer, carefully remove the stem and seeds from the apples, thereby making a deep hole where the filling will go.

3. Now combine the brown sugar, as well as the butter and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix properly to combine.

4. Add the nuts and spoon mixture evenly into each of the apples.

5. Add ¼ cup of water to a baking dish and place apples on top.

6. Now bake for about 40 to 45 minutes, or better still, bake until apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Once it has reached this stage, carefully remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.

7. Spoon the sauce drippings from the pan over the apples.

Step by step instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.

2. With the use of a paring knife or an apple corer, core each apple leaving the bottom intact. Now once you have done that, use a spoon or perhaps a small melon baller to scoop out a little bit of the top and inside flesh so as to form a cavity.

How to make the filling

3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, as well as the brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, nuts, and oats. Add the butter to the mixture and stir properly to combine.

Note that you’ve have done this well only if the mixture holds together when you gather clumps and press them together.

4. Divide the filling between the prepared apples.

Note that how you choose to divide the filling among the apples greatly depends on the size of the apples and how large the cavity you created in the apples are. I recommend you use between 3 to 4 tablespoons of filling for each apple.

5. Now once you have done that, place the filled apples in a baking dish, and then fill the bottom of the baking dish with roughly about one inch of water.

6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes covered. After 20 minutes, uncover and bake for an additional 25 to 35 minutes until the topping is golden brown, and the apples are tender but still holding their shape.

Note that the amount of time you bake the apples also depends on the size of the apples.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Baked apple halves

1. Preheat oven to 225 degree Fahrenheit.

2. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

3. Wash the apples thoroughly and dry them.

4. Now once you have done that, core the apples using an apple corer or a pairing knife.

Note that this procedure is not necessary, therefore you can decide to skip it.

5. Slice apples as thin as possible with a very sharp knife or a mandolin leaving the skin on.

I recommend you slice it about ⅛ inch thin. Not more or less.

6. Place apples on the baking sheet in a single layer. Make sure they are not touching each other.

7. Now sprinkle cinnamon evenly over each apple slices.

8. Bake for approximately 1 hour and then turn each slice over, and continue to bake for at least an additional one hour or thereabout.

Note that the longer it stays, the crispier they get.

This baked apple chips recipe is best served the day they are made. They can as well be stored in an airtight container for a few days.

Baked apple recipe microwave

Description:

This is indeed an old fashioned baked apples that is tender and delicious!

Ingredients:

1. 4 baking apples

2. ¼ cup raisins or dried apricot or candied ginger

3. ¼ cup brown sugar or maple sugar

4. ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

5. 1 tablespoon  cold butter

6. ¼ cup maple syrup or honey

7. ¼ cup apple juice or water

Step by step instructions:

1. Core the apples using an apple corer or a pairing knife, leaving the bottom intact.

2. Peel ⅓ of the top with a vegetable peeler or sharp knife.

3. Place apples in a baking dish. I recommend you use an 8 inch baking dish.

4. Now place 1 tablespoon raisins in each apple.

5. Combine the brown sugar as well as the cinnamon in a small bowl and add 1 tablespoon mixture to each apple.

6. Place 1 small piece of butter in each apple.

7. Combine syrup with apple juice in a small bowl and pour over and around apples.

8. Bake in a preheated 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 45 to 55 minutes or until apples are very tender.

Be sure to baste a few times during baking.
