If you asked me to pick my favorite dessert  I would say that I couldn’t because there are lots of amazing mouth watering deserts.Apple crisp recipe is a perfect example, it includes the following : sweet oat with tender texture, apples crisp and crunchy topping made with flour, oats, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon.

Apple crisp recipe with oats and melted butter

Prep time : 15mins

Cook time : 1hr 15mins

Total time : 1hr 30mins

Yields : 8 servings

Ingredients required for the filling :

(1) 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

(2) 1/4 to 1/2 cup of (50 to 100g) sugar, depending on tartness of apples

(3) 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

(4) 1 orange, zested and juiced

(5) 6 medium baking apples, such as Granny Smith (2 1/2 to 3 pounds).

Note : all listed ingredients are necessary.

Ingredients required for the topping :

(1) 1/8 teaspoon of kosher salt

(2) 1/2 cup of (115g) butter, melted (1 stick)

(3) 1/4 cup of brown sugar + 1/4 cup of granulated sugar

(4) 3/4 cup of (100g) all purpose flour

(5) 3/4 cup of (65g) old fashioned rolled oats

(6) 1/2 cup of (100g) sugar, option: combine.

Simple steps Instructions

(1) Heat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit

(2) Use butter of 9 inches square or 2 quart baking dish

(3) Core apples then cut into 3/4 inch pieces

(4) Add apples to a large bowl with orange zest, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg

(5) Stir for a while then add to the baking dish

Topping :

(6) Combine flour, oats, sugar and the salt in a medium bowl

(7) Add the melted butter then stir until all the flour has been moistened by the butter and topping is crumbly

(8) Sprinkle over apple filling. This is best done with the hands.

(9) As we sprinkle, we press the crumbles together to create larger clumps of topping.

(10) Bake 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes or until juices are thickened, the apples are tender and the topping has turned light golden brown

(11) If the topping starts to become too brown, cover with aluminum foil and continue to bake until the apples are done

(12) Ready to serve.

 I would personally recommend this recipe.  The tart apples pair really well with the sweet filling and makes for a great flavor.You could also use a mix of a couple different types of apples to give it even more flavor.

(8) 2 teaspoon of  lemon juice

(1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit

(2) Add all of the ingredients for the topping, except for the butter, to a medium sized bowl

(3) Stir for some minutes

(4) Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture is crumbly and comes together

(5) Combine all the ingredients for the apples and stir together

(7) Mix into 8 or 9 square dish

(8) Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples

(9) Bake for about 40 minutes, until the topping is golden around the edges and the apples are tender

(10) Allow to cool for about 15 minutes

Description : This comes with a unique taste of difference, very easy to prepare and it takes less than 2hours with easy ingredients.

Prep time : 20mins

Ingredients for topping :

(1) 1/4 cup of cold butter or vegan buttery stick, cut into very small cubes (Coconut oil can also be used)

(2) 1/3 cup of dark brown sugar ( You can also substitute with  coconut sugar but brown sugar is still the best)

(3) 1/2 cup of old fashioned rolled oats, gluten free if desired

(4) 1/3 cup of whole wheat pastry flour (or regular flour or gluten free oat flour or almond flour) any one you feel comfortable with

(5) 1/2 cup of raw chopped pecans

(6) 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

(7) 1/4 teaspoon of  salt

Ingredients required for the crisp :

(1) 5-6 medium Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored into  very thinly slice

(2) 1/3 cup of pure maple syrup

(3) 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

(4) A pinch of nutmeg

(5) 1 table spoon of bourbon (or pure vanilla extract) which ever you desire the most.

Steps To Follow:

(1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit

(2) Generously grease an 8×8 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray

(3) To make the topping: Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans in a large bowl until it’s well-combined

(4) Add in the pieces of butter and use your hands to squeeze and combine until the mixture becomes crumbly and resembles wet sand

(5) You can cut in the butter with a pastry cutter, or place all of the topping ingredients in a food processor and pulse until just blended

(6) My favorite method is to use my hands, as I believe you get the best crumbly topping that way

(7) Once finished, place topping in the fridge and begin making the apple filling.

(8) To make the filling: Place apples, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and bourbon (or vanilla) in a large bowl and toss to combine

(9) Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes.

(10) Take 1/3 cup of the topping mixture and toss with the apple mixture

(11) Place the apple mixture in prepared pan and sprinkle evenly with topping.

(12) Bake the crisp on a baking sheet (just in case the filling bubbles over!) for 45-55 minutes

(13) Remove from oven and cool 10 minutes on wire rack

(14) Serve warm with your favorite vanilla ice cream.

This easy apple crumble is one of my favorite dishes to eat for dessert. It’s super simple, so it’s perfect for those times when you just want something easy but delicious.

(2) 80g plain of flour

(1) 8 medium apples (or 10 small apples), peeled, cored and sliced apple

(2) 1/4 cup of white granulated sugar

(3) 2 tablespoons of  light brown sugar packed

(4) 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour

(5) 3/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

(6) 1/4 cup water

Required ingredients for crumbs :

(1) 1 1/4 cup of quick-cooking oats (or rolled oats for a chewier crumb)

(2) 1 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour

(3) 3/4 cup of light brown sugar packed

(4) 1/4 cup of white granulated sugar

(5) 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

(6) 1/2 teaspoon of salt

(7) 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder

(8) 3/4 cup of (180g) unsalted butter melted

Simple steps To Follow:

(1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit

(2) lightly grease an 8×8 baking dish.

(3) Add the butter, brown sugar, oats, plain flour, and cinnamon into a bowl

(4) Combine until it resembles large breadcrumbs.

(5) Add the apple to the baking dish.

(6) Lastly, add the topping over the apple.

(7) Place into the oven and cook for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Description : I bet you would love to try this one out, consists of so many amazing ingredients that will keep you busy during your leisure time. It takes just 1hr 30mins to prepare.
